| The
Fund Committee is pleased to announce the establishment of the Lemar
Jones, Sr., Scholarship Fund. This scholarship program was developed
to financially assist outstanding students who are seeking or plan to
seek degrees in higher education. It is our hope that this scholarship
fund will encourage highly qualified students to pursue higher
education.
Scholarships will be awarded to students selected by the Lemar Jones,
Sr., Scholarship Fund Committee on an annual basis. The award will be a
minimum of $500 a year.
The deadline for initial
contributions to the Fund for awards to be made in 2004 will be March
15, 2004. After March 15, 2004, contributions to the Fund for future
awards can be submitted at anytime.
Requirements
- The Scholarship Fund is
available to students from Stephens, Arkansas and the surrounding
area.
- Applicant must be a
graduating senior in the year of application with a letter of
acceptance from a College or University, or
- The applicant must be
enrolled in a two or four year college or trade school.
- Transcript from school.
- Two letters of
recommendation.
- Application deadline is
April 15 of each year.
- Application forms can
be obtained from a Stephens High School Counselor.
